Bout of Books 23

The Bout of Books read-a-thon is organized by Amanda Shofner and Kelly Rubidoux Apple. It is a week long read-a-thon that begins 12:01am Monday, August 20th and runs through Sunday, August 26th in whatever time zone you are in. Bout of Books is low-pressure. Ich habe schon längere Zeit nicht mehr am Bout of Books teilgenommen. Die Termine waren ungünstig, es lagen andere, wichtigere Dinge an (Lernen für Prüfungen zum Beispiel) usw. Doch nun juckt es mir quasi in den Fingern. Zwar passt mir der Termin in gewisser Weise auch wieder nicht – Urlaub steht erst im September an – aber ich möchte in meinen Challenges vorankommen, vor allem in meiner 18für2018 – Leseliste. Daher werde ich mir ohne Druck oder ähnliches Bücher auf dieser Liste zu Gemüte führen.

In die engere Auswahl kommen unter anderem:

• Tower of Dawn (Sarah J. Maas)
• Brain on Fire (Susannah Cahalan)
• This Mortal Coil (Emily Suvada)
• The Children of Men (P.D. James)
• The Goldfinch (Donna Tartt)
• Blood and Guts in High School (Kathy Acker)
• Muldental (Daniela Krien)

Ein Großteil dieser Bücher deckt auch Aufgaben in der BookRiot Read Harder und der Popsugar Reading Challenge ab, was natürlich mehr als nur super ist.

Ob und wie ich mich an die Liste halte – Leselisten und ich haben ja keine sonderlich gute Beziehung zueinander – wird sich zeigen. Vielleicht lese ich eines der Bücher durch Zufall auch schon eher. Wir werden sehen. Ich freue mich zumindest auf den Bout of Books.
