[Das Jahr des Taschenbuchs] Buchkauf im Mai #jdtb16

Der Mai zeigt diesmal ganz deutlich ein paar kleine Facetten meines Lesegeschmacks – von YA-Kitsch (The Crown), über Memoiren (The Argonauts) bishin zu Essays (Men Explain Things To Me; Unspeakable Things) ist alles dabei.

~Die Kaufgründe~

Ich lese seit einiger Zeit vermehrt Bücher zu Themen wie gender identity, Feminismus, Frauenrechte, Gleichberechtigung und so weiter, und so fort. Interessiert haben mich diese Themen schon immer, die Häufung von Büchern hierzu auf meinem Lesestapel liegt auch eher daran, dass viele nun als Taschenbuch bzw. Paperbacks erhältlich sind. Bei The Argonauts kam noch hinzu dass das Buch die Leseauswahl für den Mai in der Goodreads-Gruppe OurSharedShelf von Emma Watson war. The Crown von Kiera Cass schlägt mit seinem Prinzessinenkitsch und der Suche nach einem potentiellen Heiratskandidaten in eine komplett andere Richtung. Da ich aber die Selection-Reihe ganz nett und unterhaltsam fand, durfte der finale Abschlussband eben einfach nicht fehlen. Bestellt wurden die Bücher online bei der Buchhandlung meines Vertrauens.

Das Jahr des Taschenbuchs ist eine Aktion von Kielfeder und Die Liebe zu den Büchern, in der es darum geht, im Jahr 2016 den rückläufigen Verkaufszahlen der Taschenbücher entgegenzuwirken, indem man jeden Monat mindestens ein Taschenbuch kauft und vorstellt, um so dem Medium Taschenbuch mehr Aufmerksamkeit zukommen zu lassen.
